I scream you scream, and we all scream for ice cream nachos! The frugal fun way of turning your broken cones into a new dessert that the kids (and you) will love!

How many times do you open a box of ice cream cones only to find that they've been crushed? Well, now your dreams don't have to be crushed along with it.

With this super simple and fun ice cream nachos recipe, you can turn those broken cones into a dessert that will have you licking the plate clean.

These aren't like the Buffalo Wild Wing Nachos, where they're served with cinnamon sugar chips (although you could totally do that). These nachos are more like a deconstructed ice cream sundae, so they're loaded with your favorite ice cream sauces and toppings.

    Why This Recipe Works

    1. It's great for broken cones. We like to use pizzelle cookies or broken ice cream cones, depending on which we have on hand. During the summer, it's broken cones, and in winter is when we buy pizzelle cookies from Aldi. Yum.
    2. You can customize it. Make your ice cream sundae however you want! Want chocolate ice cream? Vanilla? Both? Go for it! And don't forget all of the best sundae toppings while you're at it.
    3. It's unique and fun. Everyone's had a bowl of ice cream or an ice cream cone, but imagine the look of surprise on the kid's faces when they see plated ice cream nachos! My kids still get excited whenever they see them, haha.

    🧾 Substitutions

Ice cream cones. Don't have broken ice cream cones handy? Pizzelle cookies work wonderfully as a substitute because they look and taste so similar to waffle cones. In fact, my kids couldn't even tell the difference!

Other ideas include using broken cookies like Oreos, gingersnaps, or nilla wafers!

    📖 Variations

You can modify this recipe to make it however you want. By choosing dairy free or gluten free products it can easily be made more allergen-friendly.

Use any of your favorite ice cream toppings like caramel sauce, fruit syrups, or fresh sliced fruits like banana and strawberries. There's no wrong way to enjoy ice cream!

    🍴 Recipe Tips

This fun dessert would be great served at a kid party or sleepover, imagine the fun that could be!

I do not recommend making this in advance because you want the cookies to be crisp and the ice cream cold and not soggy so make sure it's all prepared and enjoyed in the same sitting.

Mix and match toppings, cones, ice creams, and toppings. It's all going to be good!
