💛 Why You'll Love This Recipe
- It's easy to make. Making a boxed brownie mix is very easy and requires almost no effort at all. This recipe is almost as easy as that, except we pour the batter into cones instead of a baking dish.
- Minimal ingredients. All you need is some prepared brownie mix and ice cream cones.
- Perfect for sharing. One batch makes plenty to share, but once you try these brownies, you may not want to share. That's fine too because they freeze well.
🛒 Ingredients

Boxed brownie mix- Use a box of your favorite brownie mix.
Eggs- Eggs will give us the texture we want from the brownies and help add richness.
Ice Cream Cones- Use flat bottomed ice cream cones to hold the prepared brownie mix. These are called Cake Cones. Use leftover cones for these Microwave Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes. Broken cones can be turned into Ice Cream Nachos.
See the recipe card below for full ingredients and instructions.
💰 Budget-Friendly Tips
Use boxed brownie mix. Box mixes keep costs low and deliver consistent results every time.
Buy cones in multipacks. Larger boxes of ice cream cones usually cost less per cone.
Skip toppings if needed. These brownies are great on their own without frosting or ice cream.
Perfect for parties. Individual portions reduce the need for plates, forks, or extra desserts.
🥄 Instructions for Ice Cream Cone Brownies
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350℉.

Step 2: Pour the brownie mix, oil, water, and eggs into a large mixing bowl. (Image 1). Whisk together until well combined. (Image 2). Use the amounts listed in the recipe card below. Do not prepare the batter according to the box.
Step 3: Scoop the batter into the ice cream cones, about 3 tablespoons, or until it reaches the bottom of the wide ridge. You want them ⅔rds of the way full. (Image 3).
Step 4: Place your ice cream cones in the baking dish of choice.
Step 5: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Depending on the size of the cones or how full you filled them, you may need an additional 10 minutes in the oven. (Image 4).
Step 6: Let cool and serve. You can add a scoop of ice cream or frosting on top. Enjoy!
👩🏻🍳 Expert Tips
- Fill level matters. Fill cones about two thirds full to prevent overflow. Use the ridge where the cone widens as your guide.
- Keep cones upright. Place cones in a muffin tin or a foil lined baking dish with holes poked through to keep them from tipping while baking.
- Transporting cones. For unfrosted brownies, transport in an airtight container and decorate later. For frosted cones, use a foil covered baking dish or an upside down disposable pan with holes to keep cones upright and secure.
❄️ Storage and Make Ahead
Storage: Store unfrosted brownie cones in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2-3 days.
Make Ahead: Bake the cones a day in advance and add frosting or ice cream just before serving for best texture.
