💛 Why You'll Love This Recipe

  1. Easy to make. Using a boxed cake mix keeps prep and shopping simple. It's the same reason we love shortcuts in recipes like Chocolate Pistachio Bundt Cake and Easter Confetti Cake.
  2. Affordable. This cake is budget friendly and delivers consistently great results, even when money is tight.
  3. Any night friendly. It works just as well as a casual after dinner dessert as it does for gatherings or special occasions.

🛒 Ingredients

labeled ingredients needed to make oreo bundt cake with marshmallow icing.

Boxed cake mix. A white cake mix forms the base of the recipe.

Oreo cookies. Use whole Oreo cookies. Save extras for Oreo Iced Coffee Recipe, Oreo Banana Bread, or Oreo Rice Krispie Treats.

Instant pudding. Cheesecake flavored instant pudding adds moisture and flavor.

Marshmallow icing. Made with marshmallow fluff or creme, vanilla, milk, and powdered sugar.

See the recipe card below for full ingredients and instructions.

💰 Budget-Friendly Tips

Use store-brand cake mix and pudding. Generic mixes work just as well and often cost less.

Stretch the cookies. Twelve Oreos give plenty of texture, but you can use fewer if needed.

Skip decorative toppings. The cake is flavorful on its own even without extra cookie garnish.

🥄 Instructions for Oreo Bundt Cake

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350F degrees and grease a bundt pan. Set it aside.

Whisk cake mix, eggs, milk, pudding mix, and oil. Add crushed Oreos, stir into batter.

Step 2: Add the cake mix, eggs, milk, dry pudding mix, and oil to a mixing bowl with a whisk (Image 1).

Step 3: Whisk together to combine (Image 2). Set aside.

Step 4: Break your Oreo cookies into small pieces. Add to cake batter (Image 3).

Step 5: Fold together until fully combined (Image 4).

Sprinkle crushed Oreos in bundt pan, pour batter, bake, then flip onto plate.

Step 6: Sprinkle Oreo cookie crumbs in the grease bundt pan *optional (Image 5).

Step 7: Pour the cake batter into your prepared bundt pan. Spread it out into an even layer (Image 6).

Step 8: Bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick can be inserted and come out clean (Image 7).

Step 9: Let your cake cool for 15 minutes before flipping onto a wire rack.

Step 10: After the cake has cooled, move it to a large plate (Image 8).

Whisk icing ingredients until smooth. Drizzle over cooled cake, sprinkle with crushed Oreos if desired.

Step 11: Add the icing ingredients to a bowl (Image 9).

Step 12: Whisk together until a smooth drizzling consistency (Image 10).

Step 13: Drizzle the icing over the top of the cake (Image 11). Sprinkle crushed Oreo cookies on top, if desired (Image 12).

Step 14: Allow the icing to sit for 10 minutes to set.

Slice and serve. Enjoy!

👩🏻‍🍳 Expert Tips

  1. Cool before releasing. Let the cake cool for a few minutes in the bundt pan to help it release cleanly without breaking.
  2. Dairy free option. Use a dairy free cake mix and milk alternative if needed. Oreos are typically vegan, and many pudding mixes are dairy free, but always check labels.
  3. Customize it. Add extra Oreo cookies if you want a richer, more cookie filled cake.

❄️ Storage and Make Ahead

Storage: Store the Oreo Bundt Cake covered at room temperature for up to 2 days or in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

Make Ahead: Bake the cake a day in advance and glaze just before serving for the best texture and presentation.

🥗 Side Dishes or Pairing Ideas

This Oreo bundt cake pairs well with fresh berries, vanilla ice cream, whipped topping, or served as part of a dessert table for parties and gatherings.

❓ Oreo Bundt Cake FAQs

Can I use a different boxed cake mix?

Absolutely! If you want to try this recipe using a yellow cake mix, chocolate cake mix, or a different flavor, go for it. Let me know in the comments how it tastes because I will be curious!

Do I need the stuff that the boxed cake mix asks for?

The back of your cake box will request eggs, oil, and water (on most boxes). Some may even request melted butter. You do not need those. We basically supplied what it asked for in this recipe and substituted the water for milk to make it better.

Is there a specific technique for preparing the bundt pan?

Before pouring the batter, it's recommended to grease and flour the bundt pan or use a baking spray to ensure the cake doesn't stick to the pan.

Instructions

  • Preheat & Prep: Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a bundt pan and set aside.
  • Mix the Batter: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the cake mix, eggs, milk, dry pudding mix, and vegetable oil until smooth.
  • Add Oreos: Break the Oreo cookies into small pieces. Fold most of the crushed cookies into the batter, reserving a small amount for topping if desired.
  • Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan and spread evenly. Bake for about 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Cool: Let the cake cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then carefully invert onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Make the Icing: In a bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, marshmallow fluff, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth and drizzleable.
  • Ice the Cake: Transfer the cooled cake to a serving plate. Drizzle the icing over the top and sprinkle with reserved Oreo pieces if desired.
  • Set & Serve: Allow the icing to set for about 10 minutes, then slice and serve.

Notes

  • Cooling Tip: Allowing the cake to rest briefly in the pan helps it release cleanly without breaking.
  • Dairy Free Option: Use dairy free cake mix and milk alternatives if needed. Oreos are naturally dairy free, but always double check packaging.
  • Cookie Amount: Additional Oreo cookies may be added for extra texture and flavor.
  • Cake Variations: This recipe works well with yellow cake mix, chocolate cake mix, or other pudding flavors.
