When you picture smores you may picture campfires, summertime, and other summer favorites like Old Fashioned Lemonade or Armpit Fudge. But this recipe brings the summer favorites indoors.
Whether you call them oven baked smores or oven-roasted smores, they still taste as great as you'd expect. With toasted marshmallows, gooey centers, and melty chocolate sandwiched between two graham crackers, who needs a campfire? Oven-made smores are totally where it's at!
Avoid the mosquitos and humidity by staying indoors and enjoying your broiler smores. This could become a favorite family moment or a convenient way to enjoy smores even when the weather and seasons are less than favorable.

🍯 Why This Recipe Works
- It's fast. Just a moment or two in the oven is all it takes to get these smores ready for snacking. They're even faster to make than our Golden Graham Smores Bars!
- You can make several at once. Instead of making one at a time, you can make a dozen or so if you wanted to! Perfect for serving at a sleepover or party.
- Simple ingredients. You only need 3 ingredients to make some smores, and they're so iconic you already know what they are. You won't need anything extra to make this recipe, so enjoy simplicity and deliciousness in one.
🥘 Ingredients
Ingredient Notes:
Graham Crackers- Use your favorite graham crackers for this recipe. I like to use the honey variety, but I'm sure cinnamon or chocolate graham crackers could taste great too!
If you still have graham crackers to use up, be sure to make a No Bake Graham Cracker Crust and enjoy more summer favorites like No Bake Kool Aid Pie and Lemon Bars with Graham Cracker Crust.
Large Marshmallows- While you could use any size or type or marshmallow, using a regular large marshmallow works best under the broiler.
Hershey Chocolate Bars- Smores taste best with milk chocolate (or at least, I think so).

🍴 Recipe Tips
- Chocolate Options- You have the flexibility to use any type of chocolate for your oven s'mores. Whether you prefer the classic Hershey's chocolate bar or enjoy the rich flavor of Reese's cups, the choice is yours.
- Handle with Care- When assembling and handling your oven s'mores, be cautious when placing the pan in and out of the oven. Any sudden movements could cause the marshmallow to roll off, leading to a messy situation.
- Broiling Marshmallows- While broiling the marshmallows, keep a close eye on them. After about a minute, they can quickly transition from perfectly toasted to burnt. Once marshmallows are burnt, there's no going back, so it's essential to monitor them closely to achieve that golden brown perfection.
💭 Recipe FAQs
Roasting s'mores without a fire pit can be done on the stovetop, in the oven, microwave, or toaster oven. Skewer marshmallows for stovetop or oven roasting, broil in the oven, microwave briefly, or use a toaster oven on low heat. While these methods work, they lack the traditional smoky flavor.
When toasting marshmallows in the oven, set to broil, and place them on a parchment-lined sheet. Broil for about 1-3 minutes, rotating as needed. Once golden brown, remove. Check frequently to prevent burning.
If you heat marshmallows for too long or at too high a temperature, they can break down and lose their structure. When they melt and then re-solidify, they might become chewy instead of retaining their characteristic soft and fluffy texture.
