Fruit pizzas have always had a special place in my heart, but this festive fruity treat really takes the cake (or cookie rather). With bright colored fruits on a creamy lime frosting, every bite is a burst of flavor.

I love how the berries look like little ornaments and the orange is arranged into a star, but you can make your own festive fruit trees look however you want! Make them big like mine or make them small and everyone can enjoy a little more fruit and festive cheer in their diets.

    🍴 Recipe Tips

You can make this Christmas tree with fruit recipe using your favorite homemade sugar cookie dough if desired, but I like the simplicity of using a prebought roll from the store.

Using your favorite fruits is a great way to make the tee more personalized, fun, and tasty. So feel free to mix and match with your tastebuds.

I used lime Jello to make the frosting tangy and green but if you aren't a fan of lime, you could just add in green food coloring to get that nice green color you want.

Rolling out the dough is a little harder than expected, but not crazy difficult. Allow the dough to roll out and back a few times on a floured surface and you should be able to stop any (if not all) shaping issues as the dough gets used to being worked with.

It actually took me a few tries to get the tree shape I wanted, my mistake was that I kept starting from the top. I recommend slicing it from the bottom and working your way to a center point.

Use leftover dough for mini fruit pizzas (like I did) or work them back into the dough to make your tree larger. Just make sure it doesn't get thinner than ¼ inch thick or you'll end up with a brittle cracker.

    💭 FAQs

How do you keep fruit pizza from getting soggy?

After assembling your fruit pizza, don't allow it to sit for too long. The moisture in the cream cheese frosting and the fruits will soften the baked cookie dough and give you a soggier result. For best results eat within 4-5 hours after making and keep leftovers stored in the fridge.

Can I make a fruit pizza the day before?

you could, but the results won't be as firm in the crust as fresh. It should still taste amazing if you kept it stored properly though. Keep it well wrapped and covered and store in the fridge for up to 3 days.

How do you soften cream cheese?

My favorite tricks are to either buy Neufchatel instead of cream cheese because there's less fat and it's naturally softer or to run a kitchen towel under hot water, ring it out and then wrap the foil block of a pack of cream cheese for 10 minutes.
