Check out this air fryer club sandwich- it puts other sandwiches to shame. Packed with crisp cold lettuce and tomatoes, melty cheese, and warm deli meat between toasted slices of bread.

    Recipe: $2.36 | Per Serving: $2.36 | Servings: 1

stacked halves of an air fried club sandwich.

This is the perfect air fried sandwich (and I should know as I have made a lot of air fried sandwich recipes like our Air Fryer Tuna Melt and Air Fryer Grilled Ham and Cheese).

But This club sandwich brings the combination of warm, cold, toasty, gooey, and crispy all together to create the most pleasant experience ever.

This club sandwich doesn't take too much time to prepare and can easily be made in minutes. No more going out to restaurants for a taste of this classic sandwich because you can make yours in the convenience of your own home.

    🍯 Why This Recipe Works

    1. It's quick to make. From start to finish, from prep to table, this recipe takes only a few minutes. Just a little hands on time and a little patience are all that is required.
    2. Easy to make. Building this sandwich is as simple as spreading some mayo and assembling the ingredients in the proper order.
    3. The sandwich is perfect. While there's nothing wrong with a classic club sandwich, this air fried version truly improved upon perfection by adding elements you didn't even know that you needed.

    🥘 Ingredients

ingredients needed to make air fryer club sandwich.

    Ingredient Notes:

Sandwich bread- You can use any sliced sandwich bread you'd prefer. We like to use regular white bread, but you can use whole wheat, low carb, sourdough, etc.

Deli meats- You will want a combination of sliced ham and turkey deli meat for the best flavor.

Sliced cheese- You can use any sliced cheese of your preference. We like Muenster cheese and American.

Tomato- You'll need a ripe roma tomato for this sandwich. Adding sliced tomatoes will give the sandwich more freshness and make it feel juicy as well.

two toasted slices of bread in an air fryer.

Step 2: Lay the bread, mayo side up in the air fryer. If needed, get a small trivet to place on top of the bread so that it doesn't fly around. Toast at 360F for 3 minutes.

Step 3: Remove the bread from the air fryer and spread mayo on the other side of the bread (the non-toasted sides).

meat and cheese on slices of bread in air fryer basket.

Step 4: Lay the cheese on top of one slice of bread. Lay your meat slices on the other slice of bread.

toasted meat and cheese on bread in air fryer basket.

Step 5: Toast at 360 degrees F for 2 minutes.

Tomatoes and cheese on one bread slice; meat and lettuce on the other.

Step 6: Remove from the air fryer and add your cold lettuce and tomatoes.

Open-faced club sandwich: tomatoes, cheese, salt, pepper on one; meat, lettuce on the other.

Step 7: Top the tomatoes with salt and pepper to taste.

Step 8: Place the two halves together and enjoy your sandwich.

    🍴 Recipe Tips

    1. Check after a minute. Make sure your bread doesn't fly around in the air fryer basket during toasting. Sometimes, the circulated air can push it up. If this happens, your bread won't toast well. You can fix this by adding 1-3 extra minutes to the cooking time.
    2. Toasting tip. To keep the bread in place, use a small metal trivet, like the ones used in Instant Pots.
    3. Another tip. Check that your bread is toasted enough before taking it out because it won't get darker after.

    🥗 Side Dishes

You can serve your sandwich with any of your favorite sandwich side dishes like potato chips, fresh fruits, cut vegetables, or pasta salad like Cheddar Bacon Ranch Pasta Salad.

    💭 Recipe FAQs

    Do club sandwiches have bacon?

While not every club sandwich offers bacon as an ingredient, they certainly can contain bacon and you can feel free to add a few slices of cooked bacon to your sandwich if desired.

Do all club sandwiches have three pieces of bread?

No, three slices of bread can be a lot of carbs but you can just as easily get a filling and delicious sandwich from a regular 2 bread sliced sandwich.

Can I change the meat on a club sandwich?

Yes, you can use chicken (shredded or deli versions), turkey, ham, or a combination of them all. Pick and choose based on what you have on hand or what you'd like to eat. Enjoy!
