🛒 Ingredients

Strawberries- Buy fresh strawberries and freeze them yourself in anticipation or buy them already frozen from the grocery store.
Banana- You'll want to use a frozen banana for this recipe, but if you're using fresh, make sure to check out the notes below.
Orange juice- Use some of your favorite orange juice to give this smoothie a citrus flavor and to help get the right consistency.
Yogurt- You will want to use some vanilla-flavored yogurt. Greek yogurt is best because it's thick and creamy, but any yogurt will work fine. I recommend trying our Instant Pot Yogurt.
See the recipe card below for full ingredients and instructions.
🔀 Substitutions & Variations
Fresh fruits. If using fresh (non-frozen) bananas and strawberries, you will want to add in 1 cup of ice cubes to make this drink thicker. If using frozen fruits, the ice is not necessary.
Yogurt. You can use regular vanilla yogurt, Greek yogurt, or even coconut milk based yogurt for this recipe to make it dairy free.
💰 Budget-Friendly Tips
Use frozen fruit. Buying strawberries and bananas in bulk (or freezing fresh ones before they go bad) is much cheaper than relying on fresh produce year-round.
Skip specialty yogurts. Store-brand vanilla or plain yogurt works great and keeps costs low.
Portion ahead. Pre-freeze fruit in individual bags so you can blend and go, no extra measuring or waste.
🥄 Instructions for Strawberry Banana Orange Smoothie

Step 1: Add your frozen strawberries to the blender.

Step 2: Chop your frozen banana and add it to the blender as well.

Step 4: Blend on high speed until smooth.
Step 5: Divide the smoothie between two drinking glasses.
Serve immediately and enjoy.

👩🏻🍳 Expert Tips
Don't be afraid to add in more liquid if needed. Some blenders are more high powered than others, and a smaller personal sized blender may require more liquid to help blend everything together.
❄️ Storage and Make Ahead
Storage: This Strawberry Banana Orange Smoothie is best enjoyed immediately. If you must store it, keep it in the fridge for up to 24 hours and shake or stir before drinking (it will separate naturally).
Make Ahead: Prep smoothie packs by portioning the banana and strawberries into freezer-safe bags or containers. In the morning, dump into your blender with the yogurt and orange juice and blend-quick, easy, and budget-friendly.
🥗 Side Dishes or Pairing Ideas
This Strawberry Banana Orange Smoothie pairs well with light breakfast options like scones, muffins, granola, yogurt parfaits, or toast with butter or jam. It also makes a great side to a simple brunch spread with eggs, breakfast sandwiches, or overnight oats.

❓ Strawberry Banana Orange Smoothie FAQs
Do bananas and orange go together? They do! The tangy sweet, and sour orange paired with the sweet and subtle banana creates a perfect flavor combination that works well in anything.
Certainly! Strawberries are a delicious fruit, and bananas are a wonderful addition as well. When combined, this smoothie offers a delightful flavor without missing out on the goodness it brings.
Smoothies are made nice and thick thanks to frozen fruits. The ice cold temperature helps to solidify the drink as they're broken down in the blender.
