💰 Budget-Friendly Tips
Buy chicken on sale: Stock up on boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs when they're under $2 per pound. Freeze them in portions for future fajita kits.
Swap the protein: Use chicken thighs instead of breasts, or try strips of pork, turkey, or even beans for a low-cost, high-protein alternative.
Use frozen veggies: Bell peppers and onions are often cheaper frozen, and they save prep time too. You'll get the same great flavor once cooked.
Make your own seasoning: Skip the packet and mix chili powder, cumin, paprika, and garlic powder for a DIY fajita blend that costs just pennies.
Stretch with fillers: Add a can of drained black beans or corn before freezing to stretch the meal and make it more filling.
Shop smart for produce: Bell peppers are cheapest in summer, while onions are inexpensive year-round. Choose in-season colors for the best price and flavor.
