    🥘 Ingredients

Canned corn- You will want to use a can of whole kernel corn for this recipe. I often look for the low sodium or no salt added variety but feel free to use your favorite.

Butter- You'll want to use some unsalted butter for added flavor and richness, but using salted butter is okay too!

Seasonings- Using seasonings like salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika really helps to make this corn look and taste incredible.

Fresh parsley- For a little bit of color and freshness, you can add a handful of chopped fresh parsley at the end before serving. This is an optional garnish.

For specific quantities, see the recipe card below.

    • Measuring Spoons
    • 8 inch cake pans
    • Air Fryer
    • Colander
    • Can opener

    🔪 Instructions

Check out how to make Air Fryer Canned Corn with these simple step-by-step instructions:

First, find an oven safe baking dish that can fit within your air fryer. I used an 8 inch cake pan and had plenty of space in my 8 quart air fryer, but you may need to use a different pan depending on what size your air fryer is.

a round cake pan filled with corn kernels

Open your corn, drain, and rinse before adding to an 8 inch cake pan.

seasonings added onto corn in a cake pan

    Add the seasonings.

seasoned corn in a cake pan

    Mix well to combine.

seasoned corn topped with 4 pads of butter in a cake pan

    Top with pads of butter.

cooked buttery corn in a cake pan in an air fryer basket

Air fry at 400F for 8 minutes.

air fried corn in a cake pan topped with fresh parsley

Remove from air fryer. Mix and top with fresh parsley (if using).

    Serve warm.

    🧾 Substitutions

Paprika. You can use regular paprika for this recipe or (my personal favorite) smoked paprika. Both taste incredible and give a nice touch of color to the corn.

Canned corn. If you don't have or do not wish to use canned corn, you can replace the 15 ounce can of corn with a 16 ounce sized bag of frozen corn instead. No thawing is needed.

    🍴 Recipe Tips

    Reducing sodium

If you're trying to reduce some sodium in your diet, you'll want to make sure to double-check the backs of the canned veggies at the store. Some brands are much higher in sodium content, and I have personally found the ones saying "organic" to be higher in sodium than regular.

Draining and rinsing the corn in water will help to remove some of the excess sodium since most of it is in the liquid anyways.

    🍳 Reheating

You can reheat this corn in a skillet on the stove over medium heat or simply place a serving or two of it on a plate and microwave for about 30 seconds to 1 minute.

    👩🏻‍🍳 Storage

Leftover cooked corn will last up to 4 days in the fridge in an airtight container. Reheat again before serving.

    💭 FAQs

    How healthy is canned corn?

Corn is a great source of many vitamins and nutrients, as well as fiber. Canned veggies are just as healthy as fresh or frozen because canning helps to preserve a lot of the nutrients. Not only that, but they're shelf stable and affordable too!

    Should I rinse canned corn?

According to research published by the USDA, rinsing canned vegetables can remove up to 9%-23% of the added sodium in the can. Other nutrients decreased a little as well, but not in significant amounts.

How long should you cook canned corn?

Canned corn is technically already cooked and could be cooked directly from the can if desired, but heating it always makes it taste better. Cook this corn until it is fully heated and there is no more liquid in the pan.
