💛 Why You'll Love This Recipe

  1. It's simple enough to make on repeat. This is a cold lemonade recipe you'll want to drink over and over again. With the simple ingredients and steps, that shouldn't be a problem.
  2. It's fast to make. You can have a pitcher of ice cold blue lemonade ready to drink in just minutes flat. The hard part is not drinking it too quickly because then you'll need another pitcher full. If you want to pace yourself, try adding some blue syrup to a Single Serving Lemonade so you aren't tempted to chug an entire pitcher's worth.
  3. It's a fun variation. We LOVE lemonade and have found so many tasty variations to it over the years, but this is one we go back to often. The fun color, unique flavor, and refreshing goodness are even better than regular lemonade.

🛒 Ingredients

labeled ingredients needed to make blue raspberry lemonade.

Sugar- To cut down on acidity and bring us some sweetness, you'll need some granulated sugar.

Lemon juice- For the best flavor, you'll want to use freshly squeezed lemons, but you can use lemon juice concentrate in a pinch.

Blue raspberry syrup- This can be a bit tricky to find, but I found my Torani Blue Raspberry Syrup on Amazon. You may be able to find it in grocery stores near you, but if needed, you can use blue raspberry snow cone syrup instead!

See the recipe card below for full ingredients and instructions.

🔀 Substitutions & Variations

Lemon juice. If you don't have real lemons on hand, you can use concentrate instead. You can also use it to bring the fresh lemon juice up to the required measurement so you can keep that strong lemon flavor.

Blue raspberry syrup. If you can't find blue raspberry syrup anywhere online or in-store, try using some blue raspberry snow cone syrup.

💰 Budget-Friendly Tips

Use bottled lemon juice: Fresh lemons are great, but bottled lemon juice is far cheaper and works perfectly for homemade lemonade.

Make your own simple syrup: Homemade simple syrup (just sugar + water) costs pennies compared to pre-made versions.

Add more water to stretch it: Increase the water slightly to make a bigger batch without noticeably changing flavor.

Skip the garnish: Lemon slices are optional, leaving them off saves nearly a dollar per batch.

👩🏻‍🍳 Expert Tips

  1. How to get more juice from lemons. To squeeze more juice out of fresh lemons a tip I like to use is microwaving them for about 10-30 seconds. Then before slicing in half, roll them back and forth along the counter while pushing down on them, like you're rolling out a dough log. This helps to get more juice out of the lemons.
  2. No stove? No problem. If desired, you can make Microwave Simple Syrup instead of cooking it on the stovetop.

❄️ Storage and Make Ahead

Storage: Store leftover Blue Raspberry Lemonade in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Stir before serving, as natural separation may occur.

Make Ahead: Prepare the lemonade base according to the recipe, but skip the ice and garnishes. Transfer to a pitcher, cover, and refrigerate for several hours or up to 1 day before serving. Add ice and garnishes just before serving to keep the lemonade fresh and flavorful.

🥗 Side Dishes or Pairing Ideas

Serve blue raspberry lemonade with summer favorites like grilled chicken, burgers, or hot dogs. It also pairs well with fresh fruit, pasta salads, or simple picnic sides. For a fun twist, enjoy it alongside sweet treats like sugar cookies, cupcakes, or fruit kabobs.
