Making garlic parmesan wings in the air fryer is quick and yields crispy skin and juicy meat, cutting the cooking time in half compared to oven-baked wings like our Honey Lemon Pepper Wings or Soy Garlic Chicken Wings.
We're wing enthusiasts here, whether it's day or night, football season, or a midweek lunch craving. Homemade chicken wings are a budget-friendly must.
We've tried Beer Brine Chicken Wings, Honey Gold Wings, and Honey Buffalo Wings, with more experiments ongoing. However, these garlic parm wings steal the show for me; I'm a sucker for the garlic and cheese combo.
With minimal prep, you'll have savory, crispy wings ready to devour in no time. And thanks to the air fryer, the wait is short.

🛒 Ingredients

Chicken Wings: Use raw, unbreaded wings. A large bag of frozen wings works great, just thaw before cooking.
Seasonings: A simple blend of salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika gives the wings plenty of flavor.
Baking Powder: Helps the wings crisp up beautifully in the air fryer.
Parmesan: Use canned grated Parmesan in the seasoning mix and shredded Parmesan for coating the cooked wings.
Butter & Garlic: Melted butter and minced garlic create the rich garlic-parmesan sauce that gets tossed with the hot wings.
See the recipe card below for full ingredients and instructions.
💰 Budget-Friendly Tips
Buy Wings in Bulk. Large bags of frozen chicken wings are usually much cheaper per pound than buying fresh. Thaw only what you need and keep the rest for future batches.
Choose Budget Parmesan. Canned grated Parmesan is far cheaper than fresh blocks and works perfectly here because it won't burn in the air fryer.
Stretch the Meal. Serve wings with low-cost sides like homemade fries, carrot sticks, or rice to make the meal more filling without increasing the grocery bill.

- Melt Butter However You Prefer. You can melt the butter and garlic in the microwave or a small saucepan. Just combine everything in a large bowl before tossing the wings.
- Try the Sauce on Snacks. This garlic-parm sauce is also amazing on Air Fryer Pizza Rolls, it's a total game-changer.
- Check for Doneness. Wings are fully cooked when an instant-read thermometer reads 165°F. The meat may have a slight pink tint, but it should not look raw.
