I can't be the only one that loves garlic bread right? A nice thick slice of well seasoned garlic butter on toasty bread is the ideal late night snack like these Air Fryer Frozen Mozzarella Sticks or Air Fryer Pizza Rolls.

They can be used as a side dish to complement pasta dishes like our Lemon Garlic Butter Pasta or Blackened Chicken Alfredo, but of course, I also picture it served with spaghetti and Ragu Spaghetti Sauce Recipe for a delicious meal.

When boiling pasta you're already heating up the kitchen and if there's no reason to preheat your oven to 400 Degrees F, why bother? With just 5 minutes you can air fry texas toast without adding to the hot room situation.

💛 Why You'll Love This Recipe

  1. It's fast! Most frozen bread slices I've seen require the oven to reach 400 or 425 degrees F in your oven, which often means 15 or more minutes of waiting for it to preheat before you can even bake the bread. The air fryer takes 5 minutes, and no preheating is necessary.
  2. You can use any brand! We like to use texas toast in the air fryer but that's because it's readily available. Other brands work great too. We often grab boxes of texas toast style garlic bread from our local Dollar Tree but Aldi and Walmart both have great selections.
  3. No thawing! You can place frozen garlic bread in the air fryer without needing to thaw the bread first. Open box, separate slices, pop them in the basket and cook. It's super simple.

🛒 Ingredients

texas toast frozen garlic bread next to an air fryer.

Frozen Texas Toast- Use a box of your favorite garlic bread. You can use any brand, but we really enjoy the Texas toast garlic bread for this.

Cooking spray- This is optional but can be used to help make your air fryer more non-stick and to help with the cleanup later.

See the recipe card below for full ingredients and instructions.

🔀 Substitutions & Variations

There are a lot of different types of frozen garlic bread out there and we have tried a lot (and I mean A LOT) haha. All of them have turned out incredible.

The frozen garlic toast with cheese on top is one of our favorites but the plain garlic bread is also fabulous. So no matter what flavor you choose, you should be in for a good time as long as you pick one that you already know and like.

💰 Budget-Friendly Tips

Buy store brands. Generic frozen garlic bread (like Walmart, Aldi, or Dollar Tree versions) tastes just as good as name brand but costs far less.

Add your own cheese. Skip the pricier "garlic bread with cheese" and top plain frozen slices with a sprinkle of shredded mozzarella or Parmesan before cooking.

Turn leftovers into new snacks. Reheat Air Fryer Frozen Garlic Bread and slice into strips for homemade garlic bread dippers to serve with Homemade Spaghetti Sauce, or soup.

🥄 Instructions for Air Fryer Frozen Garlic Bread

Step 1: Open a box of Texas toast garlic bread and separate the slices so that they are no longer stuck together.

Step 2: Place 4 slices of garlic bread into the basket of your air fryer. You can spray it with olive oil spray if desired, but I find it isn't necessary.

Step 3: Cook at 400 degrees F for 5 minutes until golden and toasty.

Serve warm and enjoy.

👩🏻‍🍳 Expert Tips

  1. Flipping not required. No need to flip garlic bread in the air fryer. Since toppings are usually on one side, flipping might create a mess. But if it's just butter and garlic, you can flip halfway for even toasting.
  2. Don't overfill the fryer. Avoid overcrowding the air fryer with garlic bread; 4-5 slices fit well in a regular-sized one. Overfilling hampers air circulation, leading to uneven cooking. Cook in batches if necessary.

❄️ Reheating

Reheating: You can reheat your garlic bread slices by cooking it at 360 degrees F for 2 minutes. That said, it truly tastes best when eaten fresh the first time.

🥗 Side Dishes or Pairing Ideas

Serve your Air Fryer Frozen Garlic Bread with a side of marinara dipping sauce as a simple snack or appetizer or serve it along with your meal. It would be great served alongside any good pasta meal like Instant Pot Chicken Spaghetti or Creamy Roasted Garlic and Tomato Pasta.

❓ Air Fryer Frozen Garlic Bread FAQs

Can I add cheese to frozen texas toast?

Yes, if desired you can top your garlic bread with cheese, either a nice blended cheese or even plain cheddar could be incredible. I like the blends with parmesan cheese and Asiago.

Do I need to thaw texas toast before using?

Nope! There is no need to thaw the bread before using, but letting it rest for a minute on the counter could be helpful if your slices get too stuck to each other in the packaging.

Air fryer garlic bread time

Your texas toast will be warm after about 3 or 4 minutes in the air fryer depending on which ones you use as different brands and types will vary in size and thickness. Adding the extra minute or two really helps to give it a nicely browned look and crispy texture.

How to cook store bought garlic bread in air fryer?

Insert the air fryer basket and cook the garlic bread for 5 minutes. Check for doneness and, if necessary, return the basket to the air fryer for an additional 2 to 3 minutes until the bread turns lightly golden brown. Use tongs to transfer the bread to a cutting board.

Can you reheat garlic bread in the air fryer?

How much time should you heat garlic bread in the air fryer? Garlic bread can be reheated in the air fryer for approximately 2-3 minutes at 350 degrees. What's the procedure for cooking frozen garlic bread? When cooking frozen garlic bread, simply extend the cooking time by around 3 minutes.
