💛 Why You'll Love This Recipe
- It's pretty fool proof. No adding baking soda or vinegar to the pot. No stabbing the eggs with a needle to make a tiny hole in the shell. No crazy gimmicks, just an Instant Pot and some water.

🛒 Ingredients
Eggs- You will need a good amount of raw eggs for this recipe. I recommend having them be at least a week old as older eggs will work better than fresh ones.
Water- To use your Instant Pot you will need a set amount of water (either 1 cup or 1.5 cups). You will also need some water in the ice bath.
Ice- Ice cubes will go into the ice bath which will shock the eggs after cooking and help to make them even easier to peel.

Use older eggs: Slightly older eggs peel more easily and are ideal for hard boiling, helping reduce food waste.

👩🏻🍳 Expert Tips
Timing Matters: The 5-minute cook time does not include the time it takes for the Instant Pot to come to pressure or release pressure.
Instant Pot Steps: Seal the lid, set to 5 minutes, let it pressurize, cook, then allow a 5-minute natural release before opening.
Ice Bath Finish: Move the eggs straight into an ice bath to stop cooking and make peeling easier.
Peeling Tip: If you have long nails, use the sides of your thumbs and fingers to lift the shell so you do not crack or damage the eggs.
❄️ Storage
Peeled Eggs: Last about 1 day in the fridge; peel only what you'll use soon.
Unpeeled Eggs: Keep up to 1 week refrigerated. For meal prep, leave them unpeeled to extend freshness.
Meal Prep Tip: Keeping eggs unpeeled until use helps reduce waste and stretch your budget. For more tips, see How to Make a Healthy Grocery List On a Budget.

❓ Recipe FAQs
No, I cannot recommend this. To freeze the eggs will result in a rubbery and watery mess of egg after they thaw. Not ideal. Raw eggs, out of the shell can be frozen (in ice trays) if planning to use in baked recipes.
You should not leave eggs out of the fridge for more than 2 hours after cooking. Unless you plan on using them immediately, allow them to cool and then place them in the fridge until ready to use.
A simple test to check on the age and quality of your eggs is placing them into a glass or bowl of water. If the eggs float at the top or stand up, then it is old and you should either use quickly or discard. If they're at the bottom, then they're still fresh.
