Step 1: Load the Crock Pot. Add quartered apples, sliced orange, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and water to a 6-7 qt slow cooker. (Images 1 & 2)
Step 2: Cook on HIGH 3-4 hours or LOW 6-8 hours, until apples are extremely soft.

Step 3: Use a potato masher to crush the apples, releasing natural juices and sweetness. (Image 3)
Step 4: Pour through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth to remove solids. (Step 4) Press gently for maximum flavor. Return to crockpot and set to "warm." (Image 5)

- ½-¾ cup brown sugar - ($0.26)

Instructions
- Load the slow cooker. Add the apples, orange slices, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and water to a 6 to 7-quart slow cooker.
- Cook. Cover and cook on HIGH for 3 to 4 hours or LOW for 6 to 8 hours, until the apples are very soft.
