Instructions
Soften onion.
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add the diced onion and water. Cook for about 3 minutes, until the onion is softened.
Build flavor.
Whisk in the brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, lemon juice, yellow mustard, salt, and black pepper until combined.
Add ketchup.
Whisk in the ketchup and bring the mixture to a gentle boil. Reduce heat to medium-low.
Simmer.
Simmer uncovered for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
Cool.
Remove from heat and let cool before using.
