Crochet Loofah Pattern

Materials
- Worsted weight cotton yarn
- Crochet hook- 4.0 mm or 5mm
- Scissors
- Yarn needle
Abbreviations (US terms)
- ch – chain
- hdc – half double crochet
- sl st – slip stitch
- dc – double crochet
Instructions
- Chain 3. (Image 1).
- Round 1: Work 10 hdc in 3rd ch from hook. Sl st to join. (10 sts) (Image 2).
- Round 2: Ch 1, work 2 dc in each stitch around. Sl st to join. (20 sts) (Image 3).
- Round 3: Ch 1, 1 hdc in next st, 2 dc in next st, repeat around. Sl st to join. (30 sts)
- Hanging Loop: Ch 25, sl st to same stitch to form loop. (Image 4). Optional: Fasten off and change yarn color here.
- Round 4: Ch 2 (does not count), work 4 dc in each stitch around. (Images 5&6). Sl st to join. (90 sts)
- Round 5: Repeat Round 4. (Images 7&8) Sl st to join.
- Fasten off and weave in ends.
Notes
- Cotton yarn is a must, anything synthetic will hold too much water or fall apart.
- For a firmer, denser loofah, drop down a hook size or crochet with tighter tension.
- Use scrubby cotton yarn for a more exfoliating feel.
