Cook bacon. Heat a 12-inch cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add the bacon slices and cook until crisp on both sides. Remove the bacon and reserve 1 tablespoon of the grease in the pan. Chop the bacon once cool enough to handle.
Cook onion. Add the diced onion to the reserved bacon grease and cook for about 1 minute, until softened.
Cook Brussels sprouts. Add the Brussels sprouts and olive oil to the skillet. Cook for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sprouts are browned and tender.
Season and finish. Stir in the ranch seasoning mix and chopped bacon. Toss well to combine, then remove from heat and serve warm.
