Simple Berry Syrup

A delicious sweet and fruity mixed berry syrup that's perfect for your morning pancakes (or waffles)

Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cup frozen mixed berries (or fresh and chopped)
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup water
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Cornstrach slurry

  • 2 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 4 teaspoon water

Instructions

  • In a saucepan over medium/high heat, all your berries, sugar, water, cinnamon, and vanilla extract.
  • Heat until bubbling, stirring occasionally.
  • When the berries are soft enough, mash them with a fork or potato masher while in the pot and return to the heat.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the cornstarch and water for a cornstarch slurry. Add to pot.
  • Stir until well mixed and then remove from heat. Let cool, it will thicken as it cools.
  • Serve over your favorite pancakes and waffles.
