French toast kabobs are a fun or romantic way to enjoy your breakfast. French toast with fruit on a stick can be a great appetizer or dish. Serve it at a party or enjoy it at home with the family.
Whisk together the eggs, cinnamon and vanilla in a pie plate until well blended.
Dip a slice of bread in the pan and evenly coat both sides. Place the bread one side down in a greased skillet preheated over medium heat.
Cook for 2 minutes until the bottom is golden brown, flip and then repeat. Once cooked, remove and set aside. Repeat with the remaining slices.
Slice each piece of bread into 3 long strips and then repeat in the opposite direction to make squares.
Slice your strawberries into quarter sized pieces or smaller depending on the size of your berries.
Alternate adding french toast squares with berries on a wooden skewer. Repeat until all of the bread is used.
Serve with powdered sugar and maple syrup. Enjoy.
Notes
You can make the french toast the day before and keep it stored in the fridge to limit your prep time in the morning. This french toast on a stick recipe is a great way to use up leftover french toast you might have too!You might want to avoid bananas or other fruits that are known to turn brown as they sit out (like apples). This is strictly for appearance reasons of course, but you can do a lemon juice and water wash on any fruits that are prone to browning to avoid discoloring.
