Pepperoni Pizza Bombs

Pepperoni pizza bombs are a delicious recipe that the whole family will enjoy. Buttery flakey crescent rolls, cheesy pepperoni centers and a little Italian herb on top make this a perfect lunch or appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 2 tubes crescent rolls ($2.64)
  • 4 ounces mozzarella cheese sliced into 8 equal sized squares ($0.93)
  • 1 jar (14oz) pizza sauce ($1.00)
  • 32 slices pepperoni ($1.25)
  • 1 teaspoon italian herbs ($0.10)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Spray a muffin tin with non stick cooking spray.
  • Open your crescent roll dough and lay each triangle over an open muffin tin space.
  • Push them in to make a cup so that the base of the muffin cups is covered while the remaining dough is hanging up and over the sides.
  • Add a teaspoon of pizza sauce into the center of each muffin cup.
  • add two slices of pepperoni.
  • Add a piece of cheese and then add two more pieces of pepperoni on top.
  • Take the ends of the triangles and fold them over the top to cover the pepperoni. They should look kind of like a ball.
  • Sprinkle the top with your Italian seasoning.
  • Bake in the oven for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Enjoy warm.

Notes

Recipe Tips

  • You can use any brand of crescent rolls desired whether it's Pillsbury or store brand they should all work the same. You do want to make sure that you grab the can of cut triangles instead of the crescent dough sheets though.
  • When assembling the pepperoni cheese pizza bombs, I recommend folding the larger piece of the triangle over the top of the pepperoni first and then using the smaller end to cover the spots it missed so that the tops are well covered to reduce the amount of melted cheese spilling out as they bake.

Storage

  • You can keep leftovers stored in an airtight container in your fridge for up to 4 days. Enjoy cold or reheat before eating, depending on your preferences.

Make Ahead Instructions

  • You can make and freeze these bombs for later. After assembling, place the muffin pan in the freezer for about 2 hours until the muffins are frozen solid and can be removed.
  • Then place into a gallon-sized Ziploc bag for later. They can be stored for up to 2 weeks. Then simply take out as many as you want and bake FROZEN at 375 degrees F for about 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

Air Fryer Cooking Instructions

  • Line the air fryer with a parchment paper piece (the ones with vent holes, made for the fryer). Lay a piece of crescent roll and shape into a circle, patting flat. Top with sauce, meat, and cheese and roll into a ball covering the filling well. Place into the air fryer. Repeat as needed. Cook at 350 degrees F for 15 min.
