Recipe Tips
The hardest part about making this creamy hot chocolate recipe is being patient. Letting the Instant Pot naturally pressure release will save you a lot of mess. When the drink has finished cooking, the milk mixture will have a slight textured curdle to it. It's perfectly fine to drink this way and you may not even notice the little chunk-looking pieces as you sip your mug, but I highly recommend using a piece of cheesecloth to strain the drink for a more luxurious feel. The cheesecloth will strain out the chunks and leave you with a creamy thick hot chocolate that is undeniably good. You could use ilk instead of heavy cream, but the results won't be as creamy as they would be with heavy cream. The thickness of the cream really helps to give a great texture and feel to the drink.
