You're going to enjoy this simple ramen noodles recipe. Made with some simple ingredients, we get a delicious savory noodle dish with a delicious kick of heat too!
1teaspoongrated/minced ginger or ginger paste($0.17)
¼cupsoy sauce *low-sodium preferred($0.20)
1teaspoonbrown sugar($0.01)
2teaspoonssriracha or chili sauce($0.08)
1Tablespoonrice vinegar($0.04)
Optional Garnishes
4-6green onions, thinly sliced($0.06)
1teaspoonsesame seeds($0.10)
Instructions
Place a large pan over medium-high heat and add in 3 packets of ramen noodles and enough water to cook them in. Discard the seasoning packets.
Cook for about 5 minutes or until the noodles are soft and can be broken apart. Drain into a colander and set aside. Return pan to stove.
Add your sesame oil to the pan and cook until sizzling.
Add in the minced garlic and minced ginger. Cook 1 minute until fragrant.
Remove the pan from the heat and add in the remaining sauce ingredients.
Stir together until well combined.
Add your drained noodles back into the pan with the sauce.
Toss together well to coat.
Divide into serving dishes and garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds. If desired, you can top it with more sriracha for added spice.
Notes
Substitutes: Use thin spaghetti noodles if you don't have instant ramen. You can also swap sriracha for chili sauce.Serving Size: One packet of instant ramen serves 2 (according to the package), making this recipe for 3 large or 6 small portions. Adjust as needed.Storage: Leftover garlic sesame ramen can be stored in the fridge in an airtight container for 2-3 days. Reheat in the microwave for 1-2 minutes, or on the stove with a splash of water if needed.Make Ahead: Keep cooked noodles and sauce separate until ready to serve if making in advance to preserve flavor and texture. Cold serving is an option too.
