With this quick 5 minute berry ice cream recipe, you can have a tasty treat that takes practically no time at all to make. This creamy sherbet is perfect for summer heat waves and using up frozen fruit.
Add your frozen fruit to a blender and pulverize it briefly to break it into smaller chunks.
Add ½ cup of powdered sugar and mix again to combine.
Add in the heavy cream and mix again.
Make sure to scrape down the sides of the blender. Continue until smooth and creamy.
Divide into serving bowls and top with more fruit if desired.
Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
Substitutions
Frozen fruit: You can use any frozen fruit! I usually just use a 16 ounce package of mixed frozen berries, but you can easily use frozen strawberries or other berries instead. Fresh berries that you froze yourself or a bag of already frozen fruit from the store should both work fine.
Recipe Tips
Extra sweetness. You can add up to another ½ cup of additional powdered sugar for a sweeter dessert. I find that ½ cup is perfect, but if your fruit is a little more on the tart side, you may wish to add in more.
Storage
I recommend only making this recipe right before serving because once you refreeze it, the texture changes, and it isn't as smooth and creamy as it once was.
You can freeze it in an airtight container for up to a week. But it's best when served fresh and right after making it.
